I am a historian, editor and author

based in Portland, Oregon and Jacmel, Haiti.

My research focuses on 20th-century German political thought and philosophies of knowledge. My new book Epistemology and Political Thought in Interwar Germany and Austria: 1914–1945 is forthcoming from Springer Nature. I hold a PhD in history from the University of Cambridge, and currently teach courses in history, philosophy and politics at Pacific Northwest College of Art / Willamette University.

As an independent editor I specialize in historical, educational, and social-science literature, including dissertations that need to be revised into a marketable book and early-career academic publications, as well as creative nonfiction that has a historical or philosophical dimension.

I am co-founder and program coordinator of the Haitian Machete Fencing Project, an internationally recognized organization dedicated to preserving Haiti's traditional martial arts, as well as co-founder of the nonprofit organization Cultural Capital Haiti.
